The Rise Talent Search - Makeup edition
In 2016 Lampost launched RISE, a mentorship program where the best new talent are coached and mentored by established artists from the Lampost main board and industry specialists. RISE aims to fast-track the careers of a select group of talented emerging creatives, and set them up for a successful future by building a pipeline for the fashion and advertising industry.
We wanted to extend our RISE pipeline within the makeup talent pool in South Africa, by finding new, undiscovered artists to become 1st assistants to our established Lampost makeup artists. We ran a successful talent search on social media and chose 3 finalists to participate in a test photoshoot and workshop, where they were granted the opportunity to showcase and develop their skills alongside our established Lampost makeup artists.
Our finalists were given two briefs; one natural beauty look and one African inspired Fashion Editorial look. We were very impressed with the results! We are excited to announce the two winners, who have both been made 1st assistants to our board of makeup artists. They will continue to learn and develop their skills as they work alongside the best in the industry. We proudly congratulate Bassie Seripe and Lebohang Monnane.
