Lampost

Statues in the Sun with Family Style

A local LAMPOST production in partnership with The Curated, photographer Kristin-Lee Moolman and stylist Nathan Klein came together to conceptualise a daring editorial that pays tribute to the trailblazers, the misfits, and the visionaries.

With the courage to be different, Nathan Klein crafted a world where fashion morphed into art, leather became a kind of visual armour, and individuality transformed into the ultimate luxury. Expressing these visions through Kristin’s unmistakable photographic language and her instinct for discovering striking, unconventional locations, the editorial was captured in Krugersdorp, just outside Johannesburg.

The imagery feels suspended between fantasy and realism, where sculptural silhouettes, barren landscapes and hyper-stylised characters collide to create a world that feels futuristic and grounded in place. Fashion houses such as Thom Browne, Bottega Veneta and Rick Owens appear throughout the story, but through Kristin-Lee and Nathan’s lens, these globally recognised garments take on a distinctly African energy.

At the centre of the editorial are twins Alexandra and Michael Fitzpatrick, represented by LAMPOST People. Positioned within a world that feels almost Kubrickian in its composition and tension, the pair embody rebellion and duality. For Michael, that spirit of experimentation is exactly what makes these productions memorable — describing her favourite part of the process as contributing to something that “pushes the boundaries of creativity and styling” while helping bring a much larger vision to life.

LAMPOST exists as a space for experimentation, collaboration and radical creative expression. A place where artists, image-makers and talent are encouraged to challenge convention and reshape what contemporary image-making can look like.
