New Talent: Refiloe Gvru

Artistic, soft and fully present, Refiloe brings real intensity to his craft. He studied fashion and honed his eye in retail, until a single phone call to style on set changed everything. New to the LAMPOST team, he's already bringing a fresh instinct for texture and story to everything he touches.

Growing up in the township, Refiloe’s upbringing shaped how he sees and interacts with the world. As a stylist, he's drawn to texture, to people, to the understanding that everyone carries a different story. Telling those stories is what drives his work, through chasing contrast and texture wherever he finds it.

Q & A with Reflioe:

Q: What makes a look feel powerful to you?

A: When the styling disappears into the story. A powerful look is one where the fabric, the fit, the texture all serve the person wearing it, so it feels effortless even though every choice was deliberate.

Q: Is there a project that feels especially important to you?

A: The first time I got the call to style on set. I came from retail, so stepping onto set for the first time was a real turning point, it's what showed me this could be more than a job.

Q: What have collaborations taught you about yourself?

A: That I work best when I'm really listening, to the team, to the story, to the person in front of me. Every collaboration sharpens how I read a room and what it needs.

Q: Are you more instinctive or intentional when creating?

A: Both. My instinct pulls me toward texture and contrast in the moment, but staying intentional is what turns that instinct into a look that actually serves the story.
